Slow Flow Yoga Class with Missy

Slow Flow Yoga Class with Missy

For the first time, Village Project is pleased to offer a Slow Flow Yoga class for our clients going through their cancer journey as well as to our amazing supporters.

Learn to combine breathing, flowing postures and meditation in this gentle, but deep approach to Vinyasa yoga. This slower-paced flow class allows time to explore the postures while cultivating strength, flexibility, balance, and calm. Yoga poses are linked to breath to help reveal body awareness, inner strength and easeful opening. The room will be warm, candle-lit and the practice will be enhanced with ambient music. This class is dynamic and will stretch and lengthen every muscle in your body from head to toe, but in a gentle, soothing, and relaxing way. Modifications can be made for all in attendance based on individual needs. A truly amazing and healing class, perfect for those times when you want the yoga, but not the intense workout.

Cost: $20/person. Current and Former Village Project clients are free, advanced registration is required.
Clients please use discount code CLIENT when registering. All attendees will receive 10% off total purchase in Project Shoppe on day of class.

Online registration is now open!

Instructor: Melissa “Missy” Grimes

As a mother of 3, I have always looked for ways to destress. I work as a School Psychologist in Bay Village schools so I have work stress and home stress that can pile up if not properly addressed. Daily, I count my blessings for the job I have both professionally and personally, but sometimes we need to recognize our limits and we need to learn how to take time for ourselves.

I have done aerobics, HIIT training, and boxing, to name a few, but the most consistent practice that has helped me mentally, spiritually, and physically is Yoga. I began a regular yoga practice in August 2019. After Covid hit, I decided I needed to do something to give back to others so I began my Yoga Teacher Training in Fall 2021, with Cathy Madeo Yoga. I fmy 200 YTT in December 2021 and then cofinalized my additional 300 YTT with Cathy in July 2022. I am a fully certified 500 RYT Yoga teacher and teach classes at Nurture Yoga Barre in Middleburg Heights, Honor Yoga in Westlake and Prescription Fitness in Bay. My favorites are vinyasa, yin, and aerial yoga. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi, I look forward to enhancing your yoga journey!
