Project Shoppe was born out of the need to provide our organization with an income stream as well as the need to increase community awareness, (ultimately increasing the number of meals and clients we can serve).

Fun facts:  Our Shoppe’s grand opening on September 24, 2010 marked the 8th anniversary of Village Project’s inception as well as the 5th anniversary of moving into our current building space!

Gourmet Firehouse Salsa is owned by Angelo Tetorakis, who makes and sells his famous mango and pineapple salsas.

The journey began while Angelo, a now retired firefighter, was making salsa for his co-workers one evening at the firehouse. The recipe slowly evolved as the other firemen told Angelo how to improve its taste, and eventually the first of his famous recipes emerged.

All of Firehouse Salsa’s ingredients are free of additives, preservatives, and fillers, and include all natural fruit, peppers, and spices. They are delicious on crackers, served with cheese, or used in your everyday cooking.

Stop in and taste for yourself!

All of Hazelmade’s products are made by Susan Hazel Rich in Kent, Ohio. From her home, she designs greeting cards, notepads, tea towels, little notes, and pocket journals.

The company began as a way for Susan to branch out from her day job as a graphic designer, and has continued to grow ever since. She now has an online shop, and her products are sold in various retail stores around the U.S.

We’re very excited to feature Hazelmade in our store. Be sure to stop in and check out all of her beautiful products!

Full Cycle Organics Brewing Compost Tea and Premium Organic Compost is now available at Project Shoppe!

Full Cycle Organics~100% Premium. 0% Questionable.

Typical recycling seems almost second nature now.  From the grocery to the city streets–even in our own homes–it’s found nearly everywhere.  Now, it’s possible to move beyond recycling just paper and plastic–to use your food waste to create a nutrient-rich composting soil that is superior to anything currently available in your local home & garden store.

By recycling our food waste, Full Cycle Organics has done something pretty amazing to further landfill reduction efforts and methane gas emissions–all while supporting a family-owned and operated business.

The founding family started with a vision to create something great out of Cleveland’s food waste.  With a whole lot of heart and “tote-loads” of weekly trash no longer entering local landfills, Full Cycle Organics Premium Compost was made.

Brewing Compost Tea and Premium Organic Compost products:

  • Stimulate microbial activity and supplies organic nutrients for all types of flowers, shrubs, plants, trees, gardens and landscaping
  • Compost Tea consists of (3) bags, 16 oz net weight; one tea bag makes up to 5 gallons of Premium Tea and can be reused
  • Premium Compost is approximately 6 quarts net weight and promotes healthier, more active plants and soil

Attention Tea Lovers! The Shoppe is excited to be featuring Steeple House Teas, a cottage industry from Pastor Carol Rettew, located here in Cleveland, Ohio.

She has a passion for premium loose leaf tea and the way relationships are deepened over a good cup of tea! She loves teaching others about its many wonderful aspects–how it is grown, processed and its health benefits.

Steeple House Teas are made from the top two leaves and bud of the tea plant and are selected from some of the most reputable wholesale premium tea companies around. They are carefully chosen to please a variety of tea drinkers.

Stop in the store and pick up a 4 oz. bag of either Black Currant, Apricot Oolong or Irish Breakfast–a perfect way to unwind and enjoy a delicious cup of relaxation. Enjoy the various aromas and subtle nuances. You deserve it!

Modern Sprout was desperate for a fool-proof way to cultivate healthy herbs, vegetables, and flowers, yet maintain their self-esteem. They wanted a victory garden, not planters full of defeat.

After researching non-traditional options, they found hydroponics. A method of cultivation that’s clean, self-maintaining, and yields fantastic results, hydroponics immediately seemed perfect for busy people like them.

But every kit they tried was expensive, difficult to set up, and more homely than homey. They were unimpressed with their options, so they planted the seeds for Modern Sprout. Now they provide planters that are simple, stylish, and fertile with success.

Just add water.

Founded by Jess Ekstrom out of Raleigh, North Carolina, Headbands of Hope is an apparel line of headbands for ladies and kids designed to support children with cancer.

Inspired by a summer internship at a wish-granting organization, Jesse saw that a lot of kids loved to wear headbands after losing their hair to chemotherapy. She did a google search and realized that there were no businesses donating headbands to kids with cancer, only wigs and hats. Jess started Headbands of Hope out of her dorm room in college with two headbands, her computer, and a burning passion to help these kids (and a lot of coffee).

Today, Headbands of Hope is carried in thousands of stores across the world. They’ve been featured on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, Vanity Fair, Seventeen Magazine, and even supported by celebrities like Lea Michele, Lauren Conrad, Kelsea Ballerini, Lili Reinhart and more.
But more importantly, Headbands of Hope has donated headbands to every children’s hospital in America and 15 countries. When you purchase a headband from Project Shoppe, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a hospital of our choice.

WE HOPE YOUR HEADBAND WILL SERVE AS A REMINDER WHEN YOU WEAR IT THAT SMALL ACTS OF KINDNESS CAN MAKE A HUGE IMPACT.
